This semester is my first time to use UE5 and it is very powerful in rendering. So I decided to render with it. But when I started to import the animation (ABC format), I ran into a problem. Due to the addition of the “lattice”, I use the ABC format to export the animation.It suggests that the import fails because there are too many points on one face in the model. I tried a lot of things, but the problem with the model can only be solved by returning to the state before the rigging, so I had to recreate the rigging. For some reason it wouldn’t export the weights and I couldn’t find out what the problem was, I also asked my classmates but none of them were able to fix it so I had to recreate everything. I have this problem with both of my main characters. During the testing phase I was using a model in fbx format and it didn’t report errors so I thought it would go well later. I missed a lot of details due to time constraints. After modifying the model, there was a problem with the UV of the model, which caused the material to be wrong. The animation was also wrong due to different weights.

With this “mistake”, I’ll test everything in the testing phase before proceeding to the later stages of production! It’s too costly.
